BRISTOL COUNTY BARBELL CLUB
Owner & Head Coach | Bristol County Barbell Club
Strength & Conditioning Coach • Powerlifting Coach • Gym Owner
Chad Faria is the Owner and Head Coach of Bristol County Barbell Club (BCBC) in New Bedford, Massachusetts — a private, passcode-access strength facility built for individuals who demand structure, discipline, and results.
With 13 years of in-person coaching experience and 10 years of online coaching, Chad has worked hands-on with athletes across powerlifting, combat sports, and general population training. His coaching approach blends high-level strength methodology, corrective exercise, and real-world application to build resilient, high-performing athletes for the long term.
As both a coach and competitive powerlifter, Chad brings firsthand understanding of heavy training demands, technical precision, and long-term progression. His systems are built around intelligent programming, sound biomechanics, and accountability — not shortcuts or trends. This allows him to coach lifters from their first barbell session all the way to elite competitive platforms.
Chad founded BCBC with a clear mission:
create a disciplined, community-driven training environment where Iron Sharpens Iron.
BCBC operates as a private strength club rather than a commercial gym, prioritizing culture, consistency, and athlete development above all else.
His coaching specialties include:
• Powerlifting and strength sport performance
• Combat sports strength & conditioning
• General population strength, longevity, and injury resilience
• Technical barbell coaching and movement analysis
• Long-term athlete development and performance systems
Chad coaches athletes both in person at BCBC and remotely through online training and coaching services, delivering structured programming, direct feedback, and individualized performance support to athletes nationwide.
COACHING
PHILOSOPHY
Strong people build strong communities. Discipline, consistency, and intent always win.
Chad believes strength training is a lifelong pursuit — not just a physical one, but a mental and personal discipline. Every athlete he coaches is taught to move with intent, train with purpose, and build strength that carries beyond the gym.

A Message From the Founder
A Message From the Founder
Bristol County Barbell Club was built with intention.
This is not a commercial gym, and it was never meant to be. BCBC exists for people who want more than casual training — people who value discipline, consistency, and progress earned the right way. Whether you’re chasing competitive goals or simply trying to become stronger and more capable in everyday life, this is a place where standards matter.
Strength training changed my life. It taught me accountability, patience, and the importance of showing up when motivation fades. Over the years, I saw too many gyms drift away from those principles, prioritizing volume and convenience over culture and coaching. BCBC was created as an answer to that — a private strength club where the environment supports long-term development, not shortcuts.
At BCBC, everyone trains with purpose. We respect the equipment, the process, and the people around us. We push each other, support each other, and hold the line on what this place stands for. Progress here is earned through effort, consistency, and attention to detail — not hype or ego.
This gym is for people who want to work, improve, and be part of something bigger than themselves. If you’re looking for accountability, real coaching, and a culture built on discipline and respect, you’re in the right place.
Iron Sharpens Iron.
